A core function of the Alberta Geological Survey's Groundwater Section was to study the hydrogeology of the in situ area of Athabasca and Cold Lake. The AGS Groundwater Section also provided geoscience support in partnership with Alberta Environment and Water to prepare an update of the Cold Lake-Beaver River Water Management Plan.
