Executive Summary
Exploration conducted in 1976 and 1977 on permit # 198 has been encouraging. There is evidence of late geological sorting which could provide favourable conditions for a higher aluminum content in the marl deposits. The 1976 work program consisted of prospecting and reconnaissance mapping. In addition, 24 holes were drilled to a depth of six to ten feet using a two man hand drill. Several pits were dug to a depth of six feet. The marl bed in the area is up to 3 1/2 feet thick and clean, grading up to 96% Ca. The overburden on the marl may be useful as brick clay. Considerably more work is recommended for permit 198, including deeper drilling.
