Executive Summary
This report summarizes exploration work by Great Western Diamonds Corp. during the period of October 2006 to August 2007 on the Calling Card property. The Calling Card Property comprises three permits, encompassing 14,148 hectares, and was acquired by Great Western Diamonds Corp. in January 2007. It lies south of the town of Wabasca and 90 km northeast of Slave Lake. The Calling Card property was initially staked based on Alberta Geological Survey results and its proximity to the Buffalo Head Hills kimberlites.
In 2006-2007, Great Western Diamonds Corp. initiated an aggressive heavy-mineral (till) sampling program, resulting in the collection of 42 samples on the Calling Card property.
The 2006-2007 sampling program provided very encouraging results. Several stream samples taken on and off the property were equally encouraging. Samples taken just off the property (down-topographic-slope), two samples from the western part of the property and one from the eastern part of the property showed significant kimberlite-indicator mineral grains.
These stream sample results were significant enough to warrant further exploration in the form of an airborne gradiometer survey. This survey established several targets that may not be associated with culture. If the features defined by the airborne geophysical surveys are real, and not culture, then possibly there are kimberlitic targets in both the eastern and western parts of the Calling Card property. Any viable targets should be drill tested.
