Hours and Service Information
This location is staffed by only one employee. When unstaffed, the library is closed to the public.
Visitors should call 780.422.3767 before coming to the library to confirm staff availability.
- Open to the public Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Loan policy is 2 weeks plus 1 renewal
- Interlibrary loans are for 2 weeks plus delivery time with 1 renewal. Requests accepted by
form, fax, telephone and e-mail.
- Photocopies are provided within copyright laws.
Collection
The AGS library is an excellent resource for geoscience information and is available to government agencies, industry, students and members of the public.
The library manages a collection of more than 150 journals and 25,000 books and documents. Our collection includes
- all AGS publications;
- federal, provincial and state geological survey documents;
- some ERCB publications;
- approximately 3000 Geological Survey of Canada maps; and
- maps, atlases and directories.
